Fashion Items for Sale

Spring cleaning time!  Today I did some major spring cleaning.  I went through my closet and finally decided to get rid of items that I haven't used in a year or ever used.  I am giving most of the items to goodwill, but there are a few items that are really nice and I thought why not sell them!  I have items from Cole Haan, Michael Kors, and Anne Klein.  If interested post a comment.

Item 1. Cole Haan Buckle Pump Shoes Size 10.  I have never wore these shoes.  I picked them up and thought they would be perfect but they have 3 inch heels and I decided the heals were too high for me.  I can't remember what I paid for these heals but I am asking $100 or your best offer!

Item 2.  Cole Haan NIKE Air Sierra Ballet Size 9.5. This was the first pair of Cole Haan shoes that I ever bought.  I fell in love with Cole Haan the first time I tried these on.  The Nike Air soles are wonderful.  Sadly the store only had a 9.5 and I am generally a 10, but I loved the shoes and bought them anyway but since they were really too small I didin't really wear them often.  I am asking $70 for these or best offer.

Item 3.  Cole Haan NIKE Air ballet flats patent leather with buckle size 10.  These shoes have been wore pretty often.  They are still in good shape.  I am asking $50 because I have seen the same shoes on ebay and amazon for more.

Item 4.  Cole Haan Nike Air Black Loafers size 10.  These shoes also have Nike Air soles.  They were wore a lot so I am only asking $30.

Item 5.  Michael Kors Brown Leather Pumps Size 10.  I have never wore these pumps.  They also have high heals (probably 3 inches) they are brown trimmed in suede.  They are really cute.  I am asking $45.

Item 6.  Anne Klein Ivory trimmed black pumps Size 10.        These are open toed ivory pumps with black trim and bows.  They have been worn one time.  I am asking $25 or best offer.

SOLD:  Item 7.  Pink Coach Purse with dust bag.   The coach bag is smaller and converts from handbag to wristlet its approximately 8 x 5 x 2 in with a 6.5 inch drop.  I carried the purse at most 6 times.  It is in really good shape.  I am asking $55 or best offer.

SOLD:  Item 8.  Michael Kors Ashbury Satchel Chocolate.  This purse has double straps and is trimmed in bronze.  This bag also has one zip pocket, cell phone pocket, and one multi-purpose pocket.  I carried this purse a great deal but finally upgraded to a brown Gucci bag, lol.  I am asking $90 for this bag.  This bag is priced new for $169.

Item 9.  Cole Haan ballet suede moccasin flats blue size 10.  I have a problem.  I always buy moccasins and I always buy suede.  I live in Florida.  Suede is never a good thing because it could rain any time!  I know I could weather proof my shoes but I didn't.  So I have only wore these shoes 2 times.  I am asking $50.

All of the shoes have dust bags to go along with them.  I hope you enjoy the items!  If you like anything just comment and let me know!

This time of year is all about spring cleaning.  So if you find some good items in your closet you may want to sell them for a little extra cash!!

Update

I know my blog is to be dedicated to my career path so I thought I should update about my career.  Well my career is still on a stand still.  I still like the idea of opening my own Image Consulting business, but I have had some people warn me about opening my own business without having some sort of fashion background or something on my resume that shows a fashion background.  So I have been looking online for fashion type jobs with limited experience.  There are definitely not a lot of jobs that want someone with very little experience.  I have found a few retail jobs but its more of a sales associate sort of job and that isn’t really what I am looking for, although I may consider working at Cole Haan or Ann Taylor Loft just for the discounts.  I have found a few personal shopping jobs that are looking for someone with very little to no experience sadly they are not in Jacksonville.  So I am going to keep looking.

To make me feel like I am productive, I think I am going to get my real estate license and then see if I can get some sort of part time real estate job and then possibly open my Image Consulting business.  However if a wardrobe, image, fashion consulting job opens up in Jacksonville I will definitely be applying.  While I am doing real estate work I may also try to get my image consulting license from Association of Image Consultants International so that I have something on my resume.  But who knows?

I am seriously having a quarter life crisis or something!  While I am deciding what the heck I am going to do, I am going to continue to blog.  I have this blog about my career path and miscellaneous stuff.  But I have also started another blog dedicated to celebrity gossip at http://hubpages.com/hub/Celebrity-101 and one for fashion at http://hubpages.com/hub/Style-Chic.  I am hoping these can help keep me occupied while I figure things out and earn a little money on the side.  Feel free to follow these blogs and let me know what you think!

March Madness

Its that time of year again, March Madness.  It is one of my favorite times of the year.  I love selection Sunday; I love seeing the teams being elected and watching the bubble teams anticipating on whether or not they are going to get in.  This is my take on the teams with a little twist on personal stories.  If you are a girl who wants to impress her boyfriend or husband you definitely learn from my blog.  Or if you are a guy who really doesn’t know about basketball but wants to do well in your brackets or impress your buddies read on.  I am going to talk about the top 5 seeds from each division, upsets, injury issues, and teams that got their bubble’s burst.

Number One Seeds:
Ohio State:  The number one seat overall has the inside and outside presence.  Jared Sullinger is an outstanding big man he is averaging over 17 points again and has a love for Miley’s Party in the USA.  He and his fellow teammates did a rendition of the song and has become a youtube sensation.  If you want to check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6du8UQZJAhI I recommend that you wear earplugs because the singing is that horrendous.  Ohio State also has a really good shooting guard with Jon Diebler.  I am not sure how far the team will go in the tournament because the Big 10 has not been amazing, but they are an impressive team.

Kansas:  Oh the Beakers, how I loath you.  Like Ohio State they have a huge inside presence.  The Morris Twins are ridiculous they are like Sullinger but there are two of them.  How do you stop that?  A few teams have been able to throughout the season, but it’s definitely a difficult task.  This year has been a difficult year for the Beakers especially Thomas Robinson.  Robinson lost both grandparents and then his mother in a two week time period.  Then Robinson underwent knee surgery and has been playing better as the season progresses.  I do feel sorry for this kid, but do not feel sorry for the Beakers.  This season Bill Self suspended (allegedly indefinitely) Tyshawn Taylor for a violation of team rules.  Taylor returned a few games later to play.  What happened to indefinitely?  I think if you are going to suspend a player they should be suspended.  Enough said.

Pittsburgh:  One of eleven teams in the tournament from the Big East.  Pitt won the Big East season outright finishing 15-3 in conference and 27-5 overall.  Pitt has a really good team.  Ashton Gibbs is outstanding from the 3-point line and the team is great at defense.  But Pitt has a flaw they never do well in the NCAA tournament.  They always lose early. Will this be the year that Jamie Dixon’s team breaks that cycle?  I would like to say yes, but my head says no.  Pitt will make it to the sweet sixteen but probably will crack under the pressure.

Duke:  If you know me well you know that I am a huge Duke fan.  I have been a fan of Duke for a while now but I am also a realistic Duke fan (sometimes).  This years Duke team doesn’t remind me of last years National Champion Duke team.  Toes have plagued Duke this year, Kyrie Irving has been out since December due to a toe injury.  My heart was breaking when I saw Nolan Smith go down with a toe injury during the ACC Tournament.  Luckily, Smith is okay and helped Duke win the ACC tournament.  Iriving has been warming up, could he play in the tournament?  I sure hope so.  If he does everyone better watch out!

Number Two Seeds:

Notre Dame:  Is a team full of seniors.  They are led by Ben Hansborough (Big East player of the year) and like to slow you down.  Notre Dame is a team I think could go far in the tournament because of their seniority but most analyst think they won’t end up in the final four.

North Carolina:  UNC is another team I loath.  They have definitely progressed as the season went on.  The team has a strong big man presence with Tyler Zeller and some really strong freshman with Harrison Barnes and Kendall Marshall.  At the end of the regular season I would have said the team would have went far, but they didn’t look good during the ACC tournament.  They were down by 19 against Miami and won, they were down by 14 by Clemson and won, and then they got down against Duke and couldn’t come back.  If they get down in the tournament like that they may not be able to make a come back.

San Diego State:  Has a fabulous record.  They are 32-2 and won the Mountain West Tournament.  I am honestly not sure how good they are.  They seem like a pretty good team, but they didn’t play a lot of big teams during their non-conference schedule.  They beat Gonzaga, St. Mary’s and Wichita State.  During their conference they lost twice to BYU, but beat them in the Mountain West tournament.  On a different note, their coach is Steve Fisher who coached the University of Michigan’s Fab 5, but was forced to leave Michigan after a NCAA probe.  Fisher was never found guilty by the NCAA and eventually was hired by San Diego State.  He has turned the program around at the school, which is pretty remarkable.

Florida:  Yes I live in North Florida but no I don’t love the Florida Gators.  The Gators are similar to Pitt with a very senior team.  They have a very balanced team, but lost badly to Kentucky in the SEC Championship.

Number Three Seeds:

BYU:  If you haven’t heard of Jimmer Fredette then you definitely haven’t paid attention to college basketball this year.  Jimmer or Jimmy Jim as I called him led the NCAA in scoring this year averaging 28.5 points a game.  He also scored 52 points in the Mountain West tournament.  Jimmer is a fabulous player, unfortunately I don’t know if his team is fabulous.  A few weeks ago BYU suspended their big man Brandon Davies for violations of BYU’s honor code.  Davies was suspended for having premarital sex with his girlfriend.  BYU’s honor code required all students to refrain from:  “Be honest, live a chaste and virtuous life, obey the law and all campus policies, use clean language, respect others, abstain from alcoholic beverages, tobacco, tea, coffee, and substance abuse, participate regularly in church services, observe the dress and grooming Standards.”  I am not sure I agree with his honor code, but BYU is a private university and can set whatever standards they want.  I do commend BYU for continuing to suspend Davies after he violated school policies and has no plans for allowing him back on the team (maybe Kansas should follow these rules?).

Syracuse:  The ‘Cuse is another good team.  They play the dreaded zone.  Their zone is one of the toughest in the country.  I don’t have a lot to say about Syracuse other than does their coach, Jim Boeheim ever smile?  I have watched a lot of basketball in my life and I have never seen the man crack a smile.  He won a national championship with Carmelo Anthony and I still don’t remember him smiling.

Purdue:  Purdue is a team I didn’t think would be very good this year.  In the fall, Robbie Hummell injured his ACL and was out for their entire season.  I didn’t think that this team would be able to overcome his injury but shockingly they have had a really good season.  Senior JaJuan Johnson scores twenty points a game and was the Big Ten player of the year.  I like the Purdue team mainly because I think they are a bunch of really good guys.  But being good guys doesn’t mean you are going to go far in the tourney.  Purdue has lost their last two games with a loss on the road to Iowa (who is terrible) and a loss to Michigan State in the Big Ten tournament.  I am not sure if they will be able to get out of their players funk.

Connecticut:  UCONN won the Big East tournament by playing 5 games in 5 days.  UCONN looked amazing in the tournament.  Kemba Walker scored over 20 points in each of those games.  UCONN is a young team, but their freshman players Jeremy Lamb, Shabazz Napier, and Roscoe Smith really developed during the Big East tournament.  I think this is a team that could really make a run in the tournament.

Number Four Seeds:

Kentucky:  Should give up now because let’s be honest they are going to get in trouble with John Calipari and have to vacate their season.  But anyway, Kentucky is a really young team.  Kentucky is the SEC champions, but they were not good on the road.  Saying they were not good is an understatement.  UK didn’t win a road game this season so I have a feeling they aren’t going to go far.

Louisville:  Louisville played in the Big East tournament against UCONN and looked pretty impressive.  With a coach like Rick Pitino I think Louisville could go far in the tournament. Pitino had a rough year with the extortion scandal last year, but he seems to be pulling ahead and doing a good job.  I personally hope he wears his white suite at least one time during the tournament.

Texas:
Texas I think got a snub as a four seat, but haven’t been playing well down the stretch.  Texas beat the Beakers at home, which is a huge feat.  Texas is led by Jordan Hamilton who scores eighteen points a game.  I have a feeling Texas will struggle in the tournament like they have done in the past and will have trouble against Oakland.

Wisconsin:  Wisconsin plays that slow slow slow Big Ten basketball.  It is SOOOO boring.  Wisconsin only scored 30 points against Penn State in the Big Ten tournament Jimmer scored more than that on his own!  I know Wisconsin beat Ohio State but it was in Wisconsin.

Number Five Seeds:

West Virginia:  I always have to root for WVU since I grew up in the state.  I have always liked Coach Huggins from his early coaching at Cincinnati.  I think WVU isn’t as good a team as they were last year.  There were some major off the court issues.  First Huggins suspended Casey Mitchell indefinitely for violation of team rules, however he eventually was let back on the team and actually hit the game winning shot in their conference game against Louisville.  Also against South Florida, Dan Jennings walked off the bench in the middle of the game and never returned.

Vanderbilt:  Has a pretty good shooter in John Jenkins but I doubt they will go far in the tournament.

Arizona:  I haven’t watched a lot of Pac 10 basketball this year, but I did watch the Pac 10 championship.  Although Arizona lost to Washington on a game winning shot, I think they are a really good team.  They are led by Derrick Williams.

Kansas State:  Kansas State had a few rough patches during their season.  Jacob Pullen and Curtis Kelly were suspended for several games for receiving impermissible benefits in connection with the purchase of clothing at a local department store.  During their suspensions Kansas State did not play well.  They were playing so bad that Pullen said that he wouldn’t play if they made the NIT tournament instead of the NCAA tournament.  Luckily for Pullen, his team started playing well (beating Kansas, Missouri, and Texas).  Kansas State is a team to look out for if Pullen is hitting big shots.

Upsets:

Oakland is 25-9 overall after having a huge non-conference schedule.  Although they didn’t win a lot of those game they did beat Tennessee when Tennessee was ranked 7th in the country.  Texas hasn’t been playing well down the stretch so this could be an upset.

Belmont is playing Wisconsin in the first round.  Belmont is 30-4.  Belmont has had some upsets in the past including a game against Duke in the tournament.  Wisconsin hasn’t been playing well so watch out for this game.

Utah State is 30-3.  The team was ranked in the top 25 teams in the country and some how only got a 12 seat.  I think Utah State got screwed when it came to rankings.  I mean they won 30 games this season and are a 12?  I am not saying they should have been a 1 or a 2, but a 12 is really high.  Utah State has to play Kansas State, which will be a difficult game but if Kansas State has difficulty shooting watch out for Utah State.

Injuries:

There are only a few injuries to watch out for during the tournament.  One is DJ Kennedy for St. Johns.  Kennedy tore his ACL in the Big East Tournament and will be out for the remainder of the season and 6-8 months afterwards.  St. Johns had a wonderful season this year beating Georgetown, Notre Dame, Duke, UCONN, Pitt, and Villanova, but DJ Kennedy was a big part of those wins.  Kennedy averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds a game.  St. Johns is a good team, but I think without Kennedy they may not go far.

Chris Wright is another player to watch for.  Wright broke a bone in his hand and has been out for a few weeks.  Wright is Georgetown’s big scorer on the perimeter.  He should be back for the tournament, but how good is he going to be with being out for a while and with bones in his hand broken?

Bubble Bursts:

This year the tournament was expanded from 64 teams to 68 teams.  I thought this year would allow teams on the bubble not to get screwed apparently I was wrong.  VCU and UAB made the tournament with no wins over top teams while teams like Colorado and Virginia Tech didn’t make the tournament.  Colorado had wins over Kansas State three times, Missouri, and Texas but some how didn’t make the tournament.  I am slightly confused how his happens.  I thought big wins mattered.  Then there is poor Virginia Tech.  Virginia Tech and Malcolm Delaney have missed the tournament again.  Virginia Tech beat Duke and Florida State and I really thought they were in this year.  Sadly they were not.
